DAY 2

Finally rounded up my photos from FYF this year--it took a bit because I held off on posting until my film shots from my new bb Yashica were developed. Favorite performances included Kendrick, Explosions in the Sky, and Grace Jones. For nostalgia's sake, Saves the Day's Stay What You Are live was at the top of my list, but I'm not a fan of the new voice change; I wish he performed it as it was on the original album.

And because for some of us, festival "season" is actually a year-round escapade (I just got back from Desert Daze in Joshua Tree last weekend and heading to Beach Goth in Costa Mesa tomorrow), here's my:

FESTIVAL SURVIVAL GUIDE

Protect yourself: your eyes from the sun, your safety with pepper spray from any fuckbois, your hands from impromptu potty stops, your lips from the dry winds, and your T-zone from light-reflecting shine

Some personal items that I always keep on my person include sunscreen (I love this easy-to-apply oil from Supergoop) and these LOLA tampons are amaze: they're part of a subscription service that you can customize with each delivery, the brand is cruelty-free, the tampons are organic, and it's owned by WOMEN.

Lastly are the lifesavers. Because drinks are too damn expensive, and you can't afford to have a dead phone while a special guest runs onto the stage.
