Vintage dress, Chanel quilted chain purse, Nasty Gal Faux Fur Scarf, Zara boots
My first holiday party with Nasty Gal was a night to remember, at the beautiful Tangier Room in Figueroa Hotel. I've never seen so many sequin jumpsuits in one room. Anyways, I'm kind of excited because finding this dress and attaining it through good 'ol fashioned bartering reminded me how much I love vintage. I will make it a point to purchase only vintage dresses in 2015. Let's see how this experiment goes.
Shot this for a print feature with one of my favorite brands, The WhitePepper. Their branding is just too good. Also really excited about my Acne poplin blouse, I had to retire my previous one after wearing it down to its seams.
I hope you can't tell the terror in my face since we were land with supposed volatile gas lines not too far under the soil (or so the signs said). I paired this glee club-esque varsity sweater with my Rag & Bone Daytona top, but after wearing it again, I realized I like it a lot more without anything under it. You can see me wearing it in Yahoo Style here, dishing out my proudest moment.
This look included a handful of staples and just happened to work out perfectly. I'm sure by now most everyone has their go-to moto jacket, but I cannot stress how much this shirt dress has worked its way into my outfits since I got it. Not to mention this Movado BOLD watch, which is somehow both a statement piece and a staple, while still being beautifully minimal. The gold is absolutely breathtaking IRL, and the stainless steel mesh bracelet is like no other. Fortunately, Movado is helping me give you guys a chance to snag your own! Just regram my instagram photo here and tag @Movado & #BOLDHolidaySweeps.
Recently I participated in a round of "Secret Santa" like no other. I teamed up with Zappos to use their gift guide to send a special surprise to a blogger assigned to me, and I received a surprise in the mail from someone as well! Whoever selected me was spot-on. Above is a Betsey Johnson Kitchi Clutch& midi ring, and below, Seychelles Reunited boots.
As for the blogger I shopped for, I got Coury of Fancy Treahouse. Her blog is visually appealing and so consistently on-brand with her personal style, which made picking out a gift for her a cinch! Everything she produces is totally cute, so I got her a staple wool coat to throw over her uniform of pastel dresses & tights, and a heart necklace that she can wear every day. But what I think she'll love the most is this toddler-sized denim Levi's jacketfor her baby girl, who's like a precious mini-me version of her! Stylish babies for the win.
The whole gift-giving and receiving experience was a lot of fun--who knew shopping for a total stranger would be so exciting? Zappos is the ultimate shopping destination for anyone on your list (and at any age!) They're mainly a customer service company, which I really appreciate because good ol' CR is hard to come by. Not to mention their 365 day return policy (what?!) and and fast, free shipping with no minimums.
I'm still not sure who picked me yet, but if you're reading this, thanks so much for my goodies!
On the cab ride from Sevilla Santa Justa train station to the hotel, the driver began by telling us that the city was nothing like Barcelona or Madrid, in that those cities were extremely modern. I wasn't sure what he meant and thought maybe my AP Spanish translation skills were fooling me, as those cities seemed pretty historic to me. Until the next day when we had tapas for brunch at the heart of Sevilla, just steps away from the most beautiful buildings I've set my eyes on. I felt like I stepped onto the set of a movie. Later we'd have drinks on the roof across from Catedral De Sevilla, phone coverage that doesn't do it justice to come soon.
