Quick snaps of my packing list for NY. When I was told not to bring any sweaters, I did not know it literally meant sweaters would be entirely useless, besides taking up space in my bag. I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry, even when it means departing with one luggage and arriving back with three.
Which means... to clear out the store and make room for our new collections, everything must go! All vintage is now 30%-50% off, and when you subscribe to our newsletter, you can receive an additional 20% off sale items. We've also added a series of vintage Members Only jackets, recovered from an untouched closet after 20+ years!
Lastly, stay tuned for a photo diary, lookbook, and new items!

I was going to hold off posting Tarte Vintage's new stock of irresistably fun sunglasses, but since the blowing up of our inbox after posting a preview, I've caved and put them up for purchase now! My personal favorite is the Jelly Rounds in Tortoise; they're undoubtedly inspired by Karen Walker Super Duper Strength . There is limited stock of each style so snag them while you can.

I'm so excited to be traveling to New York later this week! It's been some time since I've visited the East Coast, so I'm ecstatic to reconnect with the Big Apple. Besides the informal and more play-than-work task of sourcing vintage for the store (after all, it is my new full-time!), my actual set-in-stone plans cover only a few days. Cannot wait to do some major exploring. Although I've been mentally prepared for a couple weeks, knowing me, my suitcase won't be in the same state of readiness until a few hours before my flight. (Despite my mental Polyvore collages of numerous outfits I depict in my head before bed.)
Having expressed my excitation, if you live in the area or will be visiting the same time, I'd love to have a meet up/shoot photos (either side of the camera works!)/visit your showroom/just plain hang out. (Creepers need not apply). Shoot me an email: hello@joellenlove.com. Additionally, feel free to send over any recommendations for your favorite museums, restaurants, and shopping jaunts.

Tarte Vintage Coral Floral Sunday Dress, H&M floppy hat, vintage bag, Dolce Vita Helix Wedges
These were taken while partaking in a pick-me-up shopping stop at South Coast Plaza. I told myself only essentials... so I ended up (finally) getting an iPad case by Marc Jacobs and some nail polish. Not too bad! So this dress is one of the new items on the store, New Arrivals Part 1 as I call it. I've got another batch of items coming next, I'm just waiting on a shipment of sunnies that I'm positive you guys will love.
Also, if you haven't noticed, blogger now allows people to reply to specific comments. I've been answering any comments that include questions, so if you've done so in the past, take a gander. I'll be answering all questions from the last two or three posts right now because I didn't get a chance to get to them until now. Which leads me to my next point: I'm officially through with my day job (tutoring) for this year, so I'll be taking up Tarte Vintage full time! We've also got our sights set on opening up a studio/showroom in the Costa Mesa area in the next few months. Fingers crossed!

(Marc by Marc Jacobs Mouse Flats, vintage Chanel loafers, Chloè Square Toe Ballet Flats)
While sifting through my shoe selections, I was pleasantly surprised to notice that my biggest investments are towards my flats. Being extremely flatfooted, if it were my choice, I'd be barefoot 24/7. Therefore, heels are more of the weekend/outing choice rather than for shopping/lounging. Which would lead this post into the second edition of my Thrift Gem series! Although I didn't come upon my Chanel loafers in an entirely thrift store setting, I did snag these at a (colossal) vintage swap meet for wildly less than the average retail. Heaven knows how ecstatic I was to find that this one pair was exactly my size. Yay for average feet!
