This month, we're imagining what the wardrobe for a hypothetical "That 90's Show" would look like and translating it into our new arrivals... it's hard to believe the early nineties are vintage! While going through photos and sorting out pieces, I found it amusing to blast my favorites from the era. Hopefully you'll find this playlist I compiled to accompany your online shopping experience just as amusing! Is it just me, or does Mm Bop never get old?
PS: Every order will come with a surprise relating to the backround above ;)
New purchases! As a ballet flat fanatic, I finally brought my watercolor I painted months ago to real life and succumbed into getting the crème de la crème. These were my retail therapy solutions to a) get me through the rest of the semester and b) keep me content during the next wave of, ahem, pre-you-know-what situations. Not to mention completing my bubbles obsession with these newly found perfumed ones. I'm currently at a family barbecue and signing off for the weekend, but stay tuned for new Tarte Vintage items/collection photos this Sunday.
Photos above include waking up at Ace hotel, anxious for the sun after a day of rain, the Lacoste Live pool party where we swam in Patron... I mean the amazing pool, hitching up cabana-side in my new old (vintage) swim briefs that I have reason to believe were made for a child, but a very large child (hey, it works!), an amazing vintage shop we HAD to stop by while speeding down the 111--which we did way too many times from Palm Springs to Indio, and the resort in Las Palmas that chance brought us to, thanks to good friend Richard.
Run-on sentences aside, these recaps are seriously making me miss the desert. Until tomorrow, when I rip off the last band-aid and share our last day of Coachella!
This vintage tee couldn't have fit our first day of Coachella any better: Desert Storm. Friday (daytime) was spent at the LA x Paris party, where our poolside activities were brought to a halt upon the the arrival of heavy clouds bearing inches of pouring rain. The unfortunate weather changes couldn't put a damper on the crowd, though; they came ready to dance. The umbrellas that once shaded us from the sun were suddenly the barrier from the rain; they were brought up to the dance floor to prolong the party. I started off in a patriotic swimsuit and ended up in layers pictured below.
Anyways, along with this outfit, I've put a new batch of product on the store! Check it out here.
Vintage Christian Dior silk romper, Suede Scalloped Shorts c/o Beginning Boutique, thrifted cardigan, handmade satchel from Nicaragua, Dolce Vita Helix wedges
(Le boyy looking model-esque. Two words: Blue Steel)
Filter Magazine Yacht Club party
I'm so sorry and bummed for the lack of posts recently. Which generally means I'm going to be vomiting posts collected over the next few days. After coming back from an amazing weekend in Indio and Palm Springs, I spent the following week catching up on sleep, replying to emails, taking forgotten midterms, getting sick (again) and recovering (again), and attending Nasty Gal's relaunch party. More updates to come!
If you're looking for your photos for this or any of the other events, they're up now on the facebook's newest Street Style section, and our favorites will be posted on our tumblr.
Can't believe I haven't shared the beautiful Blogger Crush spread published in this online/iPad fashion magazine. I have to say I had too much playing around with the interactive issue on my iPad.
Moreover, I won't be posting until after my weekend getaway to Coachella, so if you'll be attending the festival or countless surrounding pool parties, catch me taking street style photos for Tarte's blog. Hope to see you there! (Conversely, if you're not one of the lucky ones making the yearly trek to the desert, we got you. Follow me on instagram for updates.)
