COACHELLA SURVIVAL GUIDE

As a Coachella veteran, I've compiled a visual survival guide/checklist for desert-dwelling essentials.

1) Swimsuits, swimsuits, and more swimsuits! Peeling off layers may very well be necessary in the heat, and a bikini top & cut offs are next to nothing. Wearing under your Coachella outfits while party-hopping is also a good idea for spontaneous pool parties. (Hervé Léger black bikini €798, Dolce Gabbana high waisted bikini, $300, Padded bikini £17)

2) Even the chunkiest of heels or wedges won't work here. I've made that mistake, which resulted in le boyy carrying me on his back through unpaved parking lots for more than a mile. Sneakers/good quality sandals (read: NOT Forever21 sandals) are your best friend. (Converse high top shoes £42)

3) Swap the roller suitcase for a light-weight, recognizable duffle bag. (American Apparel travel bag $45)

4) Any face makeup will melt right off, so bring color to your face with a bright lippy. I like wearing pink during the day and a true red for night. (NARS lip makeup $24, Yves Saint Laurent lipstick $34)

5) Two obvious ones: sunnies and tons of sunscreen! Get the highest SPF. (CÉLINE sunglasses, Neutrogena face moisturizer)
6) Don't fuss with a messenger bag, and a handbag is out of the question. A backpack stays out of your way while you dance to your favorite band at the Mojave Tent. (Chanel backpack)
7) DSLRs aren't permitted without a pass (unless you're a master at sneaking things through security, like yours truly) so bring along a disposable camera. You don't have to worry too much about losing it, and it won't run out of batteries. Make sure to get one with a flash, and write your name on it just in case you do lose it--someone may bring it to the lost and found. (kodak disposable camera)
8) This Evian mineral spray is great for all seasons: during the winter it re-hydrates dry skin, and refreshes and replenishes your skin when it's hot. A perfect cool-down when taking a pit stop at the beer gardens. (Evian Mineral Water Spray)
Coachella is a guaranteed amazing time, so forget your worries and enjoy the music and art!
