This past year has been seriously eventful and so amazing. So much progression has occured in all areas of my life, and I have everyone around me to thank: my family, my friends, my boyfriend, and especially you, my readers! But before this morphs into a personal livejournal entry, here are some favorites from NYE last year.

NEON LOVE

Two recent wantsss. As much I'd like to basque in unicorn and neon kitten nostalgia wearing this Lisa Frank sweater, I have scoured the depths of the web only to find it in adult XL. Fortunately, the latter is readily available for the taking. I may be late on this product, but I just discovered Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics' (OCC) lip tar. As you may predict from my always-changing lip color, these snatched my attention immediately. After reading a heap of reviews, I'm set on ordering a few tubes. In a predominately white/black/gold-themed room, I love welcoming touches of pink, especially to make room for my (not so) secret Hello Kitty obsession. Which is why you can understand how excited I was when Twenty10Footwear sent me a preview of their Spring line in collaboration with Sanrio--the first and only official Hello Kitty shoes for adults. Hello Kitty + ballet flats + pink + glitter. I can't even begin. Nor can I wait until the rest of the line is released because I need to get my hands on another design coming out in February. LA DWELLERS: NYE

I've been getting some questions about the NYE event I'm playing, so I thought I'd share it officially on my blog! This Saturday come out and catch our live set and celebrate the new year the right way. I just got word that Mad Decent is bringing literally "unspeakable guests," and you'll regret missing out. HARDLY WINTER

Photos by Cameron McCool. This is one of the outfits I wore for a shoot a little ago; I'll share those when they're out. My friend Cameron shot these extra outfit photos above because I'm absolutely in love with this Lily White skirt I was gifted. The structure is very form-fitting yet super slimming. It sits perfectly above my hips and I can't get over the subtle side slit. It's immediately made its way to my top favorite skirts. Not to mention the amazing print. Below is a behind-the-scenes shot from said photo shoot.

6AM, DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas (and other holidays) while still sticking to its true meaning. I visited home spending Christmas Eve at le boyy's where they celebrate the traditional holiday, a ton of presents lying under the tree and cookies by the fireplace for Santa the next morning; and Christmas day at my house where a houseplant is decorated to simulate a tree, and for presents my mother hands me her credit card and says to order something good. Culture shock, right? Definitely not complaining; we still celebrated as a family at the annual Christmas lunch where, appropriately, I was the roaming photographer because I have the "big camera." Plus, I get to celebrate the holiday one more time when pseudo-Santa aka the UPS man comes knocking on my door. A more thorough, photographic update will be coming once I'm back home. /end rant

Last Sunday some friends and I stopped by Space15Twenty to come shop Hardcouture's booth, amongst others. Although small it was packed with beautiful and unique handmade and vintage items to the brim. And no, you don't need your eyes checked, that is Vanessa Hudgens that I spotted right before she snagged a Gypsy Gold Chain Headpiece to accent her signature boho style. After vintage hoarding, we concluded lazy Sunday with huge authentic burritos and horchata. Cinnamon-y goodness.

WILDCAT

I was so excited when I spotted this Christmas tree mid-holiday shopping, which was in lieu of the first living-on-my-own pink tinsel Christmas tree that I never got for the condo. (To justify myself I think I spent that money on Yogurtland.) Under this ultra-soft and equally warm velvet coat is the beautiful sequin dress from Lulu's which I received on my birthday--I think it's perfect for the holidays! I love the flash of sequin on a muted color like black; it's the perfect eye-catcher without being too flashy. Let's leave that to the Christmas lights.

SNOWBALLIN BDAY

My birthday week/weekend always ends up being one of the busiest ones of the year, in good and bad ways alike. It marks the coming of finals in the following days, but fortunately I got all my studying out of the way so I could enjoy the more pleasant festivities. I was invited to check out this year’s annual Snowball, and it turned out to be everything I expected and more! The slew of photos above include the beautiful courtyard-like location, and the gifting suite, which was basically an open bar stocked with beautiful makeup palettes, hair products, gift cards, and Essie nail polish—as you can see I couldn’t wait to slick it on. Not pictured is the sequin dress I snagged courtesy of Lulu’s, but you’ll hear more from this later. The night concluded with drinks and jam/recording sesh with friends in the studio.

As for the dress I wore, I picked it out from Beginning Boutique because I couldn’t fathom a better night to slip into a new One Teaspoon dress than on my birthday! I paired it with white Jeffrey Campbell 99s that I DIYed after realizing I wasn’t wearing them nearly enough as I wanted. Gold glitter was the perfect fix. Lastly, I got a new camera for my birthday to replace my older one (thanks, boo!) so you’ll see more frequent updates on my shop (I currently have two laundry bags that need to come up) and no more waiting in line at CVS for my one-hour photos.
