10 for 2010

I've come up with ten New Year's resolutions for 2010 that I actually PLAN TO KEEP.
In 2010:
1) Get at LEAST a 3.6 GPA this upcoming semester
2) Save up $200 by April 16th for Coachella
3) Give Pops my credit card to hold for two months so I can put my Oniomania in dormancy for a bit
4) Try my absolute hardest to buy all my clothes from Goodwill & other second-hand stores (excluding Buffalo Exchange). I'm really excited about this one! I think I'll value my clothes more since I'll have to search for each gem.
5) Spend my money on worthy items, e.g. film, music events, public transportation, and museums. (A perk of living at home is FREE FOOD so I need to stop buying it.)
6) Learn how to sequin my own things.
7) Not lose the new LG Dare I'm getting, I'm only allowing myself one more chance! I went through 7 Dares in 2009. Unacceptable.
8) Make copies of my car keys for Caylen and Chris because I think it's a little unreasonable for a resolution to be to not leave my keys in the car anymore.
9) Quit eating like I have four stomachs.
10) Call my Ninang at least once a week.

And I'm really satisfied with my first roll of film from my Diana+ Mini! It was more of a test roll but I got a lot more shots than I had expected. More scans later.

Because I can't leave you without some music, here is a quick bonus track from Ou Est Le Swimming Pool?. Contrary to their name this synth loving trio is actually from England and not France. I had this song in constant play last January and hope you do the same in 2010 :)

Dance the Way I Feel

Prepare to be completely blown away! In the age of the internet it's pretty rare to find something truly great and raw before the masses. But thanks to me you can now brag that you knew of Dam Mantle before he blew up. With a mere 600 friends on myspace this Glasgow artist is killing it with his original productions. He seamlessly mixes genres in each of his tracks to create a completely genuine and original sound.

I've posted two tracks here; Grey is definitely my favorite, with a dub step-like bassline mixed with numerous glitchy instrumental samples, vocal chops, followed by hip hop style drums all arranged creating this chaotic masterpiece!

Youghort is the second track which consists of the most unconventional assortment of drums I've heard in a long time.

Here is a bonus track from Mirror People, a side project of Rui Maia from Portugal. This track is as fresh as they come, being that it was only released a few days ago! It is a remix of Neon Indian's track "Mind, Drips." Do yourself a favor and do not overlook this track because you will instantly fall in love.

Tell me about it, stud

I recently went crazy with my hot glue gun. Studded a bunch of things and made another feathered headband because I missed the one I lost ages ago :o(

MERRY CHRISTMAS (although I'm about two hrs late)

I had an amazing Christmas Eve & Christmas although I've probably added 5 more lbs of Joelleny. Thursday I opened presents at Chris' with the family and received enough Hello Kitty paraphernalia to open my own Sanrio!

From Pops <3 style="text-align: justify;">This made me feel a little more at ease that I gave my new fish-eye to him for Christmas, haha. We share the same love for film cameras.

Recapping Hyped Up, it turned out to be a big hang out outside. Most of the pictures/footage of that night is pending because the photog hasn't gotten paid HAHA.

I Sea Waves recap here, for more of that night.

2 > 1

I stopped by Banana Republic (& saw Krtistine! :o) in the middle of more Christmas shopping and fell in love with a two-finger ring,
but the smallest size they had was a seven! Two sizes too small, in a ring that is sold out everywhere. I Wiki-answered how to fix itand made my own home remedy.
Besides Chris smashing it in as far as it goes, I glued 10, maybe 15 layers of strips of duct tape inside haha. As long as it fits, frankly I don't care!

Can't get enough.
